While food industry or management experience is a plus, neither are necessary to run one of our restaurants – our training is designed to get everyone up-to-speed! Restaurant Franchise Training

You and/or the manager of your franchise will take part in 35 days of training to prepare you to run a Perkins franchise. Training will take place in a fully-operational Perkins restaurant so you can watch our procedures in action, and get hands-on experience before returning to your franchise. A few of the principles you’ll learn include:

  • Managing finances and marketing
  • Utilizing procedures for cooks, servers, dishwashers, and other employees
  • Using our computer systems

Some franchisees (such as those who have never run a restaurant before) might also find our Franchise Orientation Program to be helpful. Participants in this program will learn the basics of operating a franchise business – it’s a great way to get your bearings in your new role!

Perkins also offers ongoing restaurant franchise training after your doors have opened. Courses and seminars (both online and in-person) will be provided from time to time to keep franchisees up-to-date on any changes to our business model and on top of best practices.
